Holiday Mashed Potatoes

Directions

  1. peel, cube and boil the potatoes until you can easily cut one of the cubes in half with a spoon
  2. strain the potatoes and return them to the same pot (off the heat)
  3. add the butter and heavy cream and begin to mash the potatoes
  4. when the potatoes are mostly smooth, add the asiago cheese and continue to stir and break up smaller lumps
  5. add salt, pepper, and a small amount of MSG
  6. serve immediately or keep warm in a 175º oven until service
